The Lagoon Restaurant in Norfolk

Soon to be a 5 star marina. They are rebuilding the facilities so its not a great time. The docks, utilities and service are top notch. Cant wait to visit next summer. Great location and easy to access. Surrounded by tons of things to do. And easy to get to any major highway. Full service boat yard across the inlet that is very convenient.

Nicely redone docks and beautiful clubhouse with surfrider restaurant about to open. Great place to dock a boat.

New management has cleaned up the place, replaced all of the splintered dock boards, and removed abandoned, derelict, eyesore, half-sunk boats that were allowed by previous management to remain. Bay Point Marina has deep-water slips and is the closest one to the inlet to the Chesapeake Bay, so this marina has the quickest, easiest access to the Bay. Office staff is professional, efficient and reliable, doing what they promise, and in the process making it nicer for all slip holders. Bravo!

We’d like to compliment the staff of Bay Point Marina in Norfolk, VA, for their help and consideration during our time there following an offshore passage from Abaco, The Bahamas, in mid May. We needed to make repairs before continuing to Mystic,CT. They were most understanding and assisted us with local information which enabled us to put our sailboat back in order. We would definitely stay there again as our sailing travels allow.

They have a different special every night. On Friday they have one of the best steaks in town! The staff is great. There are 2 bars, one inside, and one outside. A great place!

Love it

No wifi, no pool, no pumpout. Really more of a dock than a marina. Raw sewage pouring out of the front of the building. Incompetence reigns supreme here. Stay at cobbs.

clean and well maintained. Got to stop by abd see the lagoon restaurant and bar . Friendly atmosphere and if your lucky you may even find Capt Jim Lant to have a drink with.

They are working to do something there. They condemned the bar and restaurant. No more shower facilities. Just upscale (ac) porta-johns with running water.

The grounds need some major upkeep. The building where the laundry and wash house are need to be power washed BADLY, the ceiling inside the building has exposed pipes and insulation where it appears a leak occurred, there are lights out in both bathrooms and they smell horribly. The bathrooms literally look like something out of a horror movie. I would not go in there alone, especially at night with the lights being out. The grounds outside have trash everywhere, the bushes need to be trimmed back as well. The entire area just needs a good cleaning and some maintenance done, as it doesn't fit in with the East Beach neighborhood it is located next to.

Bay Point Marina has new docks, new Manager, new Dock Master. What's not to like. My favorite Marina in Tidewater.

Steak night

Great view great customer service and a very unique tasty Bloody Mary. Ordered steak bites and the food took quite a while to come out 2 when they did ask for them to be grilled they came out pan-seared and I asked for them to be rare and they were medium. I asked if they were marinated they said yes I tasted nothing unique or marinated whatsoever. Tasted like a regular steak cut with nothing but pepper on it and it was medium it wasn't medium to rare as requested. Would revisit again for another opportunity just try perhaps another menu item. They have games that can be played with other patrons that of which we did and had a good time great way to meet new people along with a great view of the marina.

Great stop coming into Norfolk especially if you’re looking to run north or south in the ocean . one of the first Marina is located next to the Navy base. Getting ready to put in pool just redid all the docks and walking distance to several restaurants.

I live at the marina here and enjoy it for the cost part, the current restraunt not so much

No maintenance performed by staff. Most advertised amenities broken or pathetic.

The place is a dump...”van down by the river” quality, but the price is right if you don’t care about fire safety, hot water showers, working toilets, rotten dock boards. Folks operating the “Lagoon” (Swamp) are salt of the earth and I’ll miss them. Captain Jim Lant is a true sailing old salt and great guy. Hope the new Reno Baypoint fixes the huge defects and keeps the local flavor. Best jump off spot in Chesapeake to all points North East and South. No services at Baypoint, but fuel and haul out within a couple hundred yards in Little Creek.

Located in East Beach... A great place to be

It is a beautiful Marina with amazing amenities, touch pricey do to the fact that you have to pay a good amount to docket there. You're very gentle with your boat moving it to and from the shelter to the water. The restaurant that is there is not bad either. Decided to keep my boat at my house just transported with my truck. Keep going back during the summer
